BEIJING: China captured 169,000 drug crime smugglers last year, 60 percent of whom were under the age of 35 and nearly 90 percent did not finish middle school, according to a report released here the other day.

The Report on Drug Situation in China 2014, the first such report released by the Chinese government, said drug smuggling is rampant these days and it is “more and more organized and professional and carried out in covert and cunning ways and through multiple and constantly changing channels.”
