Court awards jail term, fines to accused involved in drug smuggling

ISLAMABAD: The Special Court of Anti-Narcotics has heard different smuggling cases and announced sentence of jail imprisonment and fine to four accused, including a foreigner drug smuggler.

According to details, Judge of Special Court of Anti-Narcotics Chaudhary Anwer Ahmad Khan has heard different smuggling cases.

While announcing its verdict the Court sentenced a foreigner lady smuggler named Jastena who is involved in heroin smuggling case for 11 months in jail and imposed a fine of Rs 15,000. While in other smuggling cases the Court sentenced Altaf to 2 years jail and imposed fine of Rs 10,000 and accused Muhammad Haneef to sevem months in jail and Rs 25,000 of fine while accused Asbir to 10 months jail and penalty of Rs 15,000 were imposed.

It is important to mention here that all these accused were arrested by Anti-Narcotics Force team during different anti- smuggling operations.
