Govt should  withdraw sales tax on dairy products, dairy association

LAHORE: Chairman Dairy Association of Pakistan has strongly condemned imposition of sales tax on dairy products. He termed the government move as totally unjustified

Talking to Customs Today chairman Dairy Association Ikhlas Baig Mirza president Abdus Sattar, secretary general Muhammad Asim, Muhammad Zubair, Syed Khawar Shah and other leader of association said cthat the dairy products are considered basic diet of ordinary people and all dairy products including milk and ghee are tax free in European countries.

But our government imposed sales tax on dairy products that is unjustified step of government and will be causing of inflation in dairy sector. He said 60 percent people are associated with dairy business, after imposing tax dairy business will be effected, if government not return back the sales tax on dairy products and government need to import milk and ghee from the other countries that will put a negative impact for country’s economy. The association leaders appeal to government to exempt dairy sector from tax.
