FIA arrests two involved in illegal business of hundi, recovers Rs 849,000

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claims to have arrested two people found involved in doing the illegal business of hundi/hawala.

Sources said that two successive raids against the runners of illegal business of hundi/hawala were conducted under the supervision of FIA Additional Director Javed Hussain Shah by Inspector Nasir Awan Inspector Abdul Qayyum, ASI Mudassar, Ashiq and others in the Misri Shah locality of Lahore.

The FIA arrested two accused namely Naveed and Vicky Masih, allegedly involved in running the illegal business of hundi/hawala. The raiding party also seized Rs 200,000 and Rs 649,000, respectively, from the accused. Moreover, a number of registers/receipts, cheque books, deposit slips and visiting cards were also recovered from the premises.

Two FIRs 90/15 and 91/15 were also registered against the accused at the FIA Lahore, it was learnt.
