FBR collects Rs 250 million until June 30 in Gujranwala division

SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has collected taxes to the tune of Rs. 250 million in Gujranwala Division’s all the six Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahaudin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts on the last day of fiscal year 2014-15.

According to the senior officials of FBR, it was record recovery of the revenue collection in a day, as there was huge rush of the taxpayers, including the senior officials at all the scheduled banks. The selected branches of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) remained opened till 10pm while the FBR offices remained opened until 12 midnight for taxes collection on the last day of the fiscal year 2014-15. Special counters were also established to facilitate the taxpayers.

FBR officials added that the district governments of all the six districts in Gujranwala  Division and 21 Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs), Gepco, PTCL , National Savings, 55 steal millers and SNGPL also cleared their pending arrears and deposited their all the pending taxes including income tax and sales tax as well, in this regard.
