KARACHI: Traders of Karachi strongly reject imposition of taxes on import of tyres/tubes. According to traders, the government decision to impose tax on tyres will lead to decrease in sales of tyres and tubes.
Talking to Customs Today, a traders of renowned tyre market of Karachi says that that load-shedding and other crisis were already creating a lot of difficulties for them but after levy of such taxes a decrease will definitely be witnessed in the sales of tyres and tubes.
He warned the government that the traders will launch a protest if the government failed to withdraw new taxes. It is pertinent to mention here that government impose 20 percent customs duty on import of tyres. The FBR has also imposed tax on small vehicles such as jeep, tractors, motorcycles etc.
