Malaysia police seize 22.14g heroine, 4.03g cannabis, 2.42g syabu

KUALA LUMPUR: Police nabbed 23 smugglers believed to be involved in drug related activities during an operation conducted at several places in the city here the other day.

Wangsa Maju district police chief Superintendent Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif said in the five hours operation, police also seized about 30g of various drugs. Throughout the operation, a total of 22.14 g of heroine, 4.03 g cannabis and 2.42 g of syabu were seized in the crackdown. “Twenty-three suspects aged from 21 to 60 were nabbed,” he said.

The suspects, he said, were rounded up for drug trafficking, possession of drugs including heroine, cannabis and syabu and tested positive for drugs. In the operation codenamed ‘Op Sarang’, police had scoured six areas including three People’s Housing Project (PPR) area, longhouse in Setapak Jaya and Section 2, Wangsa Maju. The PPR involved were Sg Bonus, Kg Air Panas, Kg Padang Balang, and Desa Rejang. Roy added initial investigation revealed those detained were not involved in any underworld activities. A total of 49 policemen from the city contingent police and Wangsa Maju district police station were involved in the operation.
