ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotic Force (ANF) claims to have recovered 578 kilogramme charas, 13.45 kilogramme heroin, six kilogramme opium and 500 gramme amphetamine during 12 raids carried out in Islamabad, Attock, Faisalabad, Peshawar, Gilgit, Quetta and Karachi. The force also arrested 15 peddlers, including a woman and seized three vehicles.
According to details, the Peshawar ANF intercepted a tractor-trolley near Kachagarhi on Jamrud Road and recovered 450 kilogramme charas. A peddler identified as Pervez Iqbal Khan was arrested on the spot.
In another raid on the Motorway Toll Plaza, the ANF intercepted a passenger van and arrested a woman smuggler namely Sumera Altaf, a resident of Nowshera with 500 gramme amphetamine.
At the Motorway Toll Plaza in Peshawar, the ANF arrested Kamran Khan and Mehrab Gul and recovered 450 gramme of heroin from them.
In Quetta, the ANF intercepted a car near LBRT Hospital on Saryab Road and seized 94 kilogramme of hashish concealed in secret cavities of the car. The force also nabbed a peddler Muhammad Yousuf.
In Karachi, the force carried out a raid on a house in Punjabi Para area of Ibrahim Haideri and arrested two drug peddlers Muhammad Uras, son of Usman and Younus, son of Muhammad Uras, both residents of Karachi with 14.473 kilogramme of charas.
In Faisalabad, the ANF intercepted a Suzuki Mehran Car at main Motorway Toll Plaza and recovered 12 kilogramme of hashish and six kilogramme of opium from it. Two persons including Muhammad Saeed Khan, son of Shah Zaman, a resident of Charsadda and Atta Ullah Khan, a resident of Peshawar were arrested on the spot.
In another raid conducted near Kohistan Bus Stand, the ANF arrested Shafique Ali, son of Riaz, a resident of Faisalabad and recovered 2.8 kg of hashish from his possession.
In Islamabad, the ANF apprehended a passenger identified as Talib Hussain, son of Muhammad Khaliq, a resident of Gujrat at Benazir Bhutto International Airport and recovered six kilogramme of heroin. He was trying to head off for Spain via Dubai through Emirates Airline Flight EK-615.
Similarly, the ANF Rawalpindi conducted a raid on a house in village Saidan, near Tehsil Hazro, District Attock and arrested a drug paddler Najab Khan, son of Mansab Khan, a resident of Attock with two kilogramme of Heroin.
Gilgit City, the ANF carried out an operation in Village Minwar on Karakoram Highway and arrested a drug peddler Akbar Alam, son of Muhammad Yousaf with four kilogramme of charas.
In Islamabad, the ANF arrested one Syed Muhammad Hussain Shah, son of Syed Saqlain Shah, a resident of Islamabad near Irfan CNG at Taramri Chowk and recovered 600 gramme of charas from his possession.
Meanwhile, the ANF Islamabad Airport Team intercepted a passenger Muhammad Malik, son of Muhammad Nawaz, a resident of Gujrat at Benazir Bhutto International Airport. The force recovered five kilogramme of heroin concealed in a bag. He was heading for Italy via Dubai through Eitehad Airline Flight EY-234.
