Hyderabad Customs seizes 35,000 litres Iranian oil

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Anti-Smuggling Squad has seized contrabands worth Rs 5.9 million including 35,000 litres Iranian oil and 17,000 metre cloth in August.

As per details, Hyderabad Assistant Collector Preventive Imanullah on directives of Model Customs Collectorate Collector Dr Wasif Ali Memon, conducted successful raids against Iranian diesel, cloth and other contrabands and recovered the smuggled goods worth Rs 5.9 million during August.

Afghan route closure weighs on Pakistan-Central Asia trade, exports fall 9%, imports plunge 88%

In August, Anti-smuggling squad, comprising of Inspector Shafique Ali, Momin Shah and Khair Muhammad, seized 10,000 litres oil in a raid near Mirpurkhas Road, Tando Allahyar. In a second raid the squad has seized 17,000 metre cloth worth Rs 2.3 million near Hyderabad Super Highway and started investigations.

Moreover, Customs Assistant Collector Preventive Imanullah has clear directives to officers that negligence in duty will not be tolerated at any cost.
