ISLAMABAD: The Regional Directorate Anti-narcotics Force (ANF) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recovered smuggled drugs worth billions of rupees in August, which were several times more than the quantity of drugs recovered during July.
According to the available data, the ANF seized 27.6kg heroin, 460kg hashish, 50,400kg sulfuric acid and 2.5kg amphetamine in August.
Statistics revealed that ANF arrested 20 accused for their alleged involvement in narcotics smuggling but FIR was registered against only 16 people.
The biggest amount of drugs, 24kg heroin was seized on August 21 during an operation in Kohat.
Similarly, on August 9, some 50,400kg sulfuric acid was recovered in an operation in Peshawar. On August 28, ANF seized 460kg hashish in Peshawar.
