DETROIT: U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit seized what they believe are several fake identification and credit cards from two Canadian citizens during a recent inspection.
Officers conducted an inspection of a 22-year-old man from Toronto and a 24-year-old woman from Brampton on July 17.
U.S Customs and Border Protection publicized the seizure Wednesday morning.
Officers say they found 14 identification and credit cards that appeared to be counterfeit. The cards included similar looking Canadian naturalization cards, Ontario driver’s licences and social insurance cards.
All of the documents and credit cards were seized and turned over to Homeland Security investigators.
Both Canadians were found to be inadmissible to the U.S. and allowed to withdraw their application for admission and return to Canada.
U.S Customs and Border Protection did not name the Canadians they say were involved.
