FBR to start crackdown against beauty parlors/saloons

KARACHI: The Regional Tax Office-II is has geared up efforts to start a major crackdown against beauty parlors and saloon which are earning millions of rupees monthly but avoiding to pay taxes.

Sources informed Customs Today that through investigations it was come to the notice of the high-ups that some famous beauty parlors and saloons of Karachi and Hyderabad did not pay a single penny in terms of income tax, while some beauty parlors are showing their less income to avoid paying tax.

Assistant Commissioner, Regional Tax Office II Mushtaq Ghani said that some beauty parlors who are serving in posh area of Karachi are earning millions of rupees daily. He said through investigations it is revealed that they charge Rs 20 to Rs 25 thousand to prepare a bridal and they receive at least 8 to 10 clients daily. He said in the first stage notices will be sent to them asking them to clear the outstanding dues at the earliest to avoid further action.
