Traders to observe strike on August 1 against WHT

ISLAMABAD: All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajaran announced to reject all three committees formed by Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and to stage protest from August 1, 2015. Furthermore, Pakistan Muslim League (N) Lahore chapter also decides to support the call of strike.

Addressing the traders community president All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran Ajmal Baloch has said that in the FBR’s committee no representative of traders body is included all the members belong to FBR, so there is no need to sit in the talks.

Talking to Customs Today, “We have taken decision of strike for one day before the scheduled talks with Federal Minister for finance Ishaq Dar but when traders representatives failed to meet the federal finance minister despite long wait he did not bother to meet the trade representatives.

Vice president Anjuman Tajran Haji Mohammad Jamil Fakhari said that his association would definitely stage a  protest on August 1. “If government did not withdraw the withholding tax on bank transactions then we will take extra measures to press our demands,” he said. He said now the ball is in the FBR’s court,  so the government should announce to immediately withdraw the withholding tax after consultations with trade representatives.
