ANF foils bid to smuggle heroin to USA

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotic Force has foiled an attempt to smuggle heroin to the United States through cargo at Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad and arrested the accused on the spot.

According to sources, the ANF authorities received credible information that an attempt was being made to book heroin in a cargo carton.

After receiving information, Anti-Narcotics Force noticed that Muhammad Iqbal, a resident of Gilgit, has come to book a shipment through cargo to America via private airlines at Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad, on which Anti-Narcotic Force thoroughly searched the shipment and recovered one kilogram of heroin from Muhammad Iqbal’s shipment.  The ANF team has arrested the accused and registered a case of smuggling against him, while further proceedings are  underway.
