Foreign exchange reserves reach $13.5b

KARACHI: The foreign exchange reserves held by the country stood at $13,525.2 million and recorded a week-on-week increase of 1.2 per cent on September 12.

According to data released by the central bank, foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan stood at $ 8,795.5 million, while the net foreign reserves held by banks stood at $ 4,729.7 million till the said date. The SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves increased by $103 million to $8,796 million as compared to $8,693 million in the previous week, data shows. During the week under review, the SBP made payments of $25 million on account of external debt during the week.
