Customs Adjudication issues show cause notices to tax evaders

KARACHI: Customs Adjudication begin sending show cause notices to cloth importers who were found involved in tax evasion.

Sources told Customs Today  that Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement West prepares 33 contravention reports against these importers. Previously, Customs Adjudication returns some 27 contravention reports with remarks that “section of legal proceedings” were not mentioned in the contravention reports.

Now MCC Appraisement West, after completing all legal formalities sends these contravention reports to Customs Adjudication for further action and proceedings. Sources said that this was the reason behind for delay in action against these cloth importers.

Now these show cause notices are being send to all concerned asking them to defend themselves in allegations leveled against them.
