SNGPL to install modern gas meters to curb gas pilferage

SIALKOT: Tdhe Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has announced to install advanced and modern gas meters to halt gas pilferage by all the consumers in Gujranwala Division.

According to the Tahir Javaid Butt, senior engineer in SNGPL, the company has imported 30,000 special modern gas meters from China for this purpose.

He said that the SNGPL has started removing all the old gas meters, which had been working for the last 17 years, saying that the gas meters become expired after the 17 years of their manufacturing. He said that now the new advanced gas meters imported from China would be helpful in halting the gas pilferage as well as these special meters could not be tempered by the consumers.

He further said that SNGPL would replace the old gas meters with these special meters without any charges, he added. He said that now these special gas meters would be installed on all the new commercial buildings and on the under construction houses being built on an area of one kanal by SNGPL, in this regard.
