Excise Dept to take action against tax defaulter cars

LAHORE: The Punjab Excise and Taxation (E&T) has directed officials to take action against tax defaulter vehicles and urged people to submit token tax until the end of September.

An official said that those who did not pay token tax timely would have to pay tax with 5 percent surcharge until September.30. After 30 September, token tax evaders will have to pay 200 percent fine besides the token tax and will have to face legal proceedings.

He added that the E&T staff has been instructed to impound the
unregistered and tax defaulter vehicles. The Excise and Taxation Department has hanged banners to educate the people in this regard.
