The figures were shared during an important meeting on annual revenue targets chaired by PRA Chairman Moazzam Iqbal Sipra. The meeting reviewed sector-wise revenue targets, tax returns and the performance of officers.Tax Filing Software

During the meeting, the PRA chairman directed officials to ensure comprehensive scrutiny of records relating to entities suspected of tax fraud and evasion.

He said that, in line with the directions of Punjab Chief Minister, efforts to broaden the tax base and strengthen digital monitoring were producing positive results.

The chairman also attributed part of the increase in revenue collection to the implementation of the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (e-IMS) and measures aimed at improving tax compliance.

He further said that the scope of action against tax embezzlement and the issuance of fake receipts was being expanded.

The latest performance highlights the PRA’s focus on improving tax compliance, strengthening monitoring mechanisms and widening the provincial tax net. The Authority’s quarterly collection of Rs87 billion represents an increase of Rs20.7 billion over the Rs66.3 billion collected during the corresponding period last year.
