ISLAMABAD: The reservations of Trading Corporation Pakistan (TCP) about capacity of goods handling of Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) are likely to be addressed in near future.
TCP serves the nation as a highly motivated corporate entity responsive to national needs and modern trading challenges and imports urea, sugar and other things on the directions of government.
Whereas the PNSC provides reliable efficient shipping services to overseas and Pakistan’s sea home trade by maintaining relationship of integrity and trust with customers by safeguarding interest of stakeholders contributing towards betterment of national economy and the environment.
After addressal of reservations, PNSC will get good business by handling and transportation of imported goods by TCP.
According to Secretary Ministry of Ports and Shipping Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad, TCP had some reservations about the handling capacity of the PNSC. TCP under these reservations refused to give any assignment to the PNSC, which resulted in lesser business activity as well lower profit turnout of the latter.
“Now in result of our efforts Chairmen of both the national organizations have held a very conducive meeting in a cordial environment and heard each other’s viewpoint on the said issue,” he said here in an interaction with this scribe on Monday, hoping for significant improvement in the trade and business relations between both the organizations.
He further said that now the issue of settlement of Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) remained unsettled and hopefully it would be resolved amicably in next meeting between both the organizations.
He said that after resolution of the issues, TCP would export or import all of its goods, items and commodities through ships and vessels of PNSC. Resultantly, PNSC would not only get business but national exchequer would also be saved from wastage of foreign exchange to other shipping corporations.
