ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Water and Power has criticised the government for ‘exploiting’ power consumers by sending them inflated electricity bills.

The members of the Senate Standing Committee on Water and Power also censured the officials of Ministry of Water and Power, Wapda and NTDC for irking the masses who have already been suffering from uncountable troubles. Committee Chairman Senator Zahid Khan said that the country was facing severe power outage but the government has grabbed Rs70 billion from the consumers. He urged the government to take action against responsible departments and officials and the ministry should inform the committee about their punishment.
