FLORID: Enterprise Florida on Aug. 20 released updates on economic development efforts in its 2014-15 fiscal year, which included the creation of more than 33, 0000 total jobs and $2.74 billion in capital investment in the state. Projected export sales of $906.4 million, a 10.5 percent increase over fiscal-year 2013-14.The Florida Defense Support Task Force awarded $2 million in local defense communities to protect Florida’s military installations and missions.
Enterprise Florida assisted 28 small businesses with financing, and administered $4.8 million in loan guarantees and $12.5 million in loan participation. During its quarterly board of directors meeting in Ponte Vedra, new at-large board members were approved for a one year term.
They included Global Tech Ltd. President Gary Mart, Hydrologic President Christopher Lynch and Tampa Bay Lightning Chairman Jeff Vinik. Enterprise Florida’s next board meeting will be held Oct. 22 in Orlando. Enterprise Florida is the principal economic development organization for the state.
