LAHORE: The pilots have showed their concerned over the new policy, terming it disastrous for the aviation industry.

In a letter to private airlines’ management in the country, the PALPA general secretary sought their support against destructive aviation policies and discriminatory practices meted out to private airlines while doling out favours to Middle Eastern airlines which have started flying to Multan, Sialkot and Quetta reducing local airlines’ domestic business.

Sohail Ahmed maintained that the airport authorities will promote more and more flights from different airports of Pakistan, which they will eventually have the right to do as they will each function as a separate business unit.

“Pakistan loses foreign exchange as foreign airlines remit their profits. With the event of the airports owned and managed by foreign investors, the national exchequer will suffer further losses,” he added.
