PM directs ministries to complete power projects ‘urgently’

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, keeping the prevailing power crisis and its related problems faced by the masses in mind, has ordered Ministries of Water & Power and Petroleum & Natural Resources to ensure early completion of power projects.

The prime minister, chairing a high-level meeting at the PM’s House, also directed the ministries that there would be no compromise on high quality and transparency of the projects. He said that availability and affordability must also be in focus after competing projects.

PM Sharif was briefed about the position of ongoing projects in the country during the meeting, which was also attended by Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Special Assistant to PM Musadiq Malik and Secretary to PM Javaid Aslam.
