Customs Intelligence holds 1,200 cartons of smuggled juice

KARACHI: The Directorate of Customs Investigation and Intelligence, Karachi, has recovered 1,200 cartons of smuggled Iranian juice from a godown worth thousands of rupees.

As per details, Director Customs Intelligence Asif Marghoob received information regarding the storage of smuggled items in the area of Maripur, Karachi and formed a team consisting of assistant director, superintendents, deputy superintendents and others to conduct raid.

Following the instructions, Customs Intelligence team raided a godown in Maripur and recovered 1,200 cartons of Iranian juice which were supplied in local markets causing loss to the national exchequer. The team confiscated the juice as no evidence was provided to show its legal import.

Sources told that Customs Intelligence team also checked other warehouse in the locality but nothing was recovered.
