Customs registers another case of smuggling against Samartzone

ISLAMABAD: The Customs authorities have registered another case against Samsung  dealer/marketing company Smartzone. This action was taken by Customs Preventive Division Islamabad.

Sources told Customs Today that manager of Smartzone Mohammad Ali and other four suspects are nominated in the FIR. Sources further revealed that Customs Preventive received a credible information that some non-duty paid items comprising split AC, air-conditioners, LEDs, washing machines and refrigerators are being smuggled to Rawalpindi. All these items are being smuggled through Al Mehboob Goods Forwarding Company.

When the truck of above said company reaches near Rawat, the Customs authorities intercepted the truck but the driver tried to flee away. When Customs authorities started checking process, they found 57 LCDs Samsung model, 75 mount bracket, 8 washing machines of Samsung model and other miscellencous items. Customs authorities asked the driver the produce legal documents regarding possession and import of items but he failed to provide the same. After initial investigations it was revealed that these items were imported by Smartzone, and the company did not mention these items in their
