ISLAMABAD: The Inland Revenue Department of the Federal Board Revenue (FBR) has started collecting data of buyers and sellers to stop the theft of sale tax, sources said.

Sources revealed that the buyers receive full sales tax of goods that they provided to the big restaurants, hotels and private airlines but showed either a little or zero amount in inventories. According to the FBR, a clear difference of amount has been found in inventories of buyers and sellers . Thus sellers have been receiving full sales tax from the buyers but show zero percent and this way they steal sales tax worth millions of rupees.
