Punjab Excise seizes 5kg charas, 1.5kg heroin, 160 bottles of alcohol in August 2015

LAHORE: The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has seized a huge quantity of narcotics, including heroin, charas, toxic injections and others during the month of August 2015.

According to Excise and Taxation Officer Lateef Anjum, the Excise Narcotics Cell has recovered a huge quantity of narcotics from different areas of Lahore. It has recovered 1.5 kilograms of heroin and 5 kg of charas from various suspects.

The department has also seized alcohol in different operations. A total of 160 bottles were disposed of during the last month. Toxic injections and other relevant medicines were also recovered during this period.

The Excise Narcotics Cell has also arrested five suspects in August and registered cases in relevant police stations. Excise Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, Excise Secretary Ali Tahir and Excise DG Ahmad Aziz Tarar have appreciated the performance of the department.
