HAVANA: Officials of the Tax Administration of Cuba traveled to Madrid to train under the tutelage of the State Tax Administration Agency of Spain, which marks the beginning of cooperation between the two countries to improve the Cuban presence in the private sector.
The main aspect in which officials of the Island need advice lies in the management of taxes paid by half a million self-employed merchants registered from Cuban government opening to the private initiatives.
A month earlier, another Cuban delegation in Madrid had received information about the food, fundamental sector on the island, which imports 2,000 million dollars (1,785 million euros) in food, but aims to multiply domestic production to save foreign exchange.
