KPCCI lauds decision of establishing dry port in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (KPCCI) Standing Committee on Dry Port and Railways Chairman Zia Sarhadi has lauded the decision of establishing dry port in the provincial capital and called for urgent start of work.

In a statement issued, Zia Sarhadi said that the establishment of Dry Port with modern facilities was the long lasting demand of KP Chamber and Frontier Customs Agents. He said that exporters, importers and customs clearance agents were facing much difficulties in transportation of goods within and out of country due to lack of facilities at the dry port. Ziaula Haq Sarhadi said that Dry Port was established in 1986 on temporary basis in Peshawar Cannt Railway Godown, adding that former Minister for Railway Nisar Muhammad Khan had given surety of establishment of Modern Dry Port like in other cities but no progress was made till now.
