MUZAFFARGARH: Sugarcane production can be increased from 670 maunds per acre to 1500 maunds per acre by utilising the latest technology.
This was stated by Agricultural Department District officer (extension) Maher Abid, while addressing the farmers. He said growers should avoid old types of sugarcane and ensure cultivation of recommended types by the department. He expressed these views while talking to growers. He said Sept was favourite for cultivation of sugarcane and growers should get seed from healthy crop. He said CPF-243,HSF-242,CP77-400, CPF-237 and HSF-240 were for early crop while SPF-213, CPF-246,CPF-247 and SPF-245 were for mid season sugarcane crop cultivation.
