Adjudication Additional Collector Amjad declares seizure of diesel, trailer lawful

FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Amjad-ur Rehman upheld the confiscation of the smuggled 44,000 liters of Iranian diesel and trailer impounded by Model Customs Collectorate Faisalabad’s Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) Sara-e-Muhajir.

The additional collector has issued Order-in-Original (ONO) regarding the lawful seizure of the trailer loaded with smuggled diesel as no one appeared before the authority to prove the legal import of diesel and trailer despite issuing various show-cause notices.

As per details, ASO tem following credible information intercepted a trailer bearing Registration No. TLA-706 near Dajil Village, Sare-e-Muhajir and asked the driver to produce the documents showing the legal import of trailer and Iranian diesel but he could not produce any evidences.

Therefore, ASO impounded the trailers along with oil tanker filled with 44,000 liters of diesel under Section 157 (2) of Customs Act, 1969. It also found during forensic examination of the trailer that chassis number was meddled with.

Later, the seizing report was forwarded to the adjudication department where additional collector Amjad declared the confiscation of the oil tanker lawful and trailer lawful.
