Court orders NAB to return wallet, mobile phone of Qasim Zia

LAHORE: Accountability Court of Lahore has ordered NAB to return documents, wallet and mobile phone of Qasim Zia who is on judicial remand.

A petition was moved by son of PPP leader Qasim Zia that wallet and mobile phone of his father is in NAB custody which is illegal. He requested the court that these items should be returned to him.

After hearing initial arguments the Accountability Court ordered the authorities to return all items that were confiscated by the NAB on his arrest.

PPPP leader and former chairman of Pakistan Hockey Federation is on judicial remand in a fraud case and the Lahore High Court also rejected his bail plea in this case.

Qasim Zia was involved in transfer of heavy amount of investors in his personal accounts which he reconceived from the sale of fake shares at Lahore Stock exchange.

According to initial investigations, it was revealed that he was allegedly involved in selling of shares of Usman Securities without informing other directors of the company. Not only this but he also transferred all of the earning into his personal accounts.

According to National Accountability Bureau they received more than 82 complaints against Usman Securities and after investigations it was found that one of its director is involved in fake trading of the company shares. The NAB chairman issued arrest warrants for Qasim Zia on  August 7, 2015  and ultimately he was arrested by the NAB Punjab on  August 8, 2015.
