MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office Multan is going to establish a separate Inland Revenue Intelligence and Investigation office in Multan very soon.
Director-General Inland Revenue Intelligence and Investigation Haroon Tareen, during his address to officials of the Regional Tax Office, said that presence of FBR staff should be acknowledged through their efforts in the favour of the department.
Haroon Tareen said that the FBR will monitor the performance of the tax officers in order to get the better results for the achievements of assigned targets for the on-going fiscal year 2015-16. The tax officers should perform their assigned responsibilities honestly in order to develop the better tax collection system in the country, he said during the visit at the Regional Tax Office Multan.
He told that requisite budget will be approved from Federal Board of Revenue for the construction of Inland Revenue Intelligence and Investigation building in the upcoming days. He expressed that establishment of separate office Inland Revenue Intelligence and Investigation in Multan will be inaugurated very soon.
He warned that If we receive any complaints against the tax officials or staff regarding tax collection at Regional Tax Office Multan we would take stern action against them without any discrimination in order to address the grievances of taxpayers.
There is no place for corrupt officials in FBR, he said, adding that “we are trying our best to bring the transparency in tax collection system that no one could raise finger on us.” He said that presence of staff should be felt through their performance at the tax offices.
Harron Tareen Director General Inland Revenue Intelligence and Investigation also met with the Commissioner Regional Tax Office Multan and Additional Commissioner Zubair Bilal in order to discuss the vital matters for the tax collection of the Regional Tax Office Multan.
