Tax evasion of Rs 8m: RTO Multan seizes record of Qayyum and Company ‏

MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue Regional Tax Office Multan seized the office of Qayyum and Company on non-payment of Rs 8 million of sales and income tax.

Commissioner Bilal Zubair, of Regional Tax Office Multan Zone formed a special squad for taking action against the company for collection of outstanding taxes .The Regional Tax Office Multan issued a number of notices to renowned businessman and owner  Mazhar Qayyum.

The company manufactured spare parts of the tractors and other machinery consumed in the agriculture and other industry. Qayyum and Company is in the possession of its owner Mazhar Qayyum.

Owner of the business Qayyum and Company is defaulter of worth Rs 8 million in terms of sales and income tax. The said defaulter company was continuously directed from the Regional Tax Office for payment of their taxes.

The Regional Tax Office Multan issued final tax notice to said company before seizing their office in order to justify the legal requirement needed for taking any action against tax defaulter.

Inspector Arshad Khan, Auditor Muhammad Yaqoob and other staff members took the action on the directions of Commissioner Zubair Bilal of Regional Tax Office and seized the company records in order to collect taxes.

The Regional Tax Office Multan initiated tax recovery campaign against the tax defaulters on the clear direction of Federal Board of Revenue in Multan. According to sources of Customs Today that Regional Tax Multan will likely to take further action against tax defaulters during next few days for collection of taxes in Multan Zone.
