KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee gained value against the US dollar in open market and weakened in interbank.
As per the local currency market, the US dollar lost five paisas in open market to reach 104.40 and lost 20 paisas to be traded at 104.20. On Tuesday, the rupee remained firm against the dollar mainly due to the influx of foreign remittances besides modest intervention by State Bank of Pakistan besides meagre demand for dollar from corporate sector. The dollar closed at Rs104 for buying and Rs104 for selling in interbank. In open market, the US dollar closed at Rs104.20 for buying and Rs104.45 for selling. It lost 10 paisas in the open market against the rupee.
