TURKEY: High-Tech Port by MÜSİAD, a defense industry fair organized by the Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (MÜSİAD), will be held in the Qatari capital of Doha to display products and services of Turkey’s leading defense companies.

The fair, which will be organized Oct. 6-8, will be attended by 67 Turkish defense companies to meet their Qatari counterparts and potential customers from the Middle East, according to a follow-up press release by MÜSİAD.

“The High Tech Port by MÜSİAD Qatar Fair is of great importance for us. A business forum will be held at the fair with the attendance by leading businesspeople who contribute to both Turkish and Qatari economies. Trade relations between Turkey and Qatar have increased by 50 fold in the last decade. We aim to raise this by a further 200 fold in the next decade,” said Abdullah Fakhroo, the president of the Permanent Committee at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at a press conference in Istanbul on Sept. 29.

The fair will be held under the auspices of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and with the support of Turkey’s Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM). Turkey’s leading defense system producers including Aselsan, BMC, Havelsan, Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), Roketsan and THY Technic will also attend.

Turkey’s first regional jet, TRJet, will also be exhibited in the fair, as well as seven large, new defense vehicles by BMC, according to the press release.
