MUMBAI: The Red sanders Anti Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) personnel on Friday seized 87 red sanders logs and two SUVs near the forest area abutting Bhupala Nagar near Mangalam.
The cost of the seized logs was pegged at Rs. 3 crore.
Acting on a tip off, the officials began combing the region and found the smugglers getting ready to transport the logs in the vehicles.
On spotting the combing party, the smugglers fled into the deep forests after abandoning the logs and the vehicles.
Officials intensified the combing in a bid to nab the smugglers.
