PHARR: U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations (OFO) at the Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry discovered other green leafy items within a commercial truck containing produce.
“Our officers working at the commercial facility in Pharr accomplished this excellent discovery of marijuana due to their diligence and perseverance. Thanks to their effective use of all available tools and resources, these narcotics will not cross the border,” said Acting Port Director Javier Cantu, Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry.

CBP officers at Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge seized a total of 1,379 pounds of marijuana in this shipmentThe seizure occurred on Oct. 3, at Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge when CBP officers referred a tractor/trailer hauling a commercial shipment of fresh coriander for a secondary inspection. During the examination, CBP officers discovered 602 packages commingled within the crates of coriander containing 1,379 pounds of alleged marijuana. The estimated street value for the narcotics is $276,000.
The case remains under investigation by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents.
