LAREDO: U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers assigned to work at the Lincoln Juarez Bridge seized a significant amount of cocaine valued at more than $335,000 in one enforcement action this weekend.
“The primary officer’s training played a key role in this seizure,” said Acting Port Director Alberto Flores, Laredo Port of Entry. “His attention to detail and effective application of behavioral analysis skills resulted in this significant seizure.

The incident occurred on Saturday, Oct. 3, when a CBP officer referred a 2015 Honda Civic driven by a 37-year-old man from Chile and resident of Nuevo Leon, Mexico for a secondary examination. A canine and non-intrusive inspection by CBP officers resulted in the discovery of 18 packages allegedly containing 44 pounds of cocaine. The cocaine is valued at $335,920.
CBP officers seized the narcotics and vehicle. CBP officers arrested the man and turned him over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) special agents for further investigation.
