This week tomatoes was short of supply in the makeshift markets as the vendors refused to sell it there due to price fixation issue while in the open market it was being sold at Rs 90 to 100 per kilogram.

The vendors in the makeshift markets told Customs Today that the market committee fixed tomatoes rates less than their purchasing price. So they are unable to sell it in the makeshift market. Surprisingly, the rates of tomatoes were double in just one month as during the last month its price was Rs 40 per kilogram which increased to Rs 100 per kilogram.
