KARACHI: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling on Friday directed the customs investigation officer to submit challan in a case pertaining to the sale of smuggled Iranian petrol and diesel.
Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi adjourned the hearing of case till November 16.
According to details, paramilitary troops seized three oil tankers containing 25,000 liters diesel and 20,000 liters petrol of Iranian origin from the city’s Northern Bypass on August 11. Six alleged smugglers, including drivers of the vehicles and their helpers, were taken into custody.
Later, the Rangers handed over the alleged smugglers, oil and tankers to Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation. Subsequently, it registered an FIR against them. The accused, who included Shah Mir, Ihsan, Ghulam Mustafa, Zuhaib, Khuda Bux and Asif Ali, have been released on bail.
