FIA arrests nine human traffickers from Gujranwala Division

SIALKOT: Continuing its ongoing vigorous crackdown against human traffickers, their agents and sub agents, the special vigilance teams of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested as many as nine alleged human traffickers and their agents from Gujranwala Division.

Deputy Director FIA Gujranwala Region Ch Khalid Anees told Customs Today that FIA also smashed six well organized gangs of the human traffickers and money changers and has sent Muhammad Shehzad, Haneef, Muhammad Asghar, Muhammad Ramzan, Ghulam Abbas and Muhammad Akram behind the bars for further investigations after registering separate cases against them.

He said that the FIA teams also recovered Rs 200,000 in cash, dozens of the mobile phones, illegal official documents, educational and medical certificates, fake stamps, embossing machines and visas of different embassies in Pakistan and nine passports from the suspects.

Deputy Director FIA revealed that the FIA has started special investigations against eight officials of three federal government departments in major corruption scams and financial embezzlements.

Ch Khalid Anees added that the senior FIA officials, including Assistant Director Ch Muhammad Sarwar, inspectors Sajjad Bajwa , Ch Shahid Mehmood and sub inspectors Khizar Hayyat Mughal, Javaid Iqbal Ghuman, Malik Waqar Hussain Awan, Ch Zahid Farooq and Rana Tehseen Khan took active part under his supervision during the ongoing crackdown against the human traffickers.
