NEW YORK: Hyundai is recalling 27,700 midsize and compact cars in the US because salt damage could cause the cars’ front coil springs to fracture.
The recall covers Elantras made from November 2010 through March 2011 and Sonatas made from December 2009 through February 2010 that were sold or are currently registered in the so-called salt belt which icludes Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, and Washington, D.C.
