HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks retreated in the morning session Thursday, after the Federal Reserve hinted at a possible US interest rate hike in December.
The Hang Seng Index shed 0.33 percent, or 74.67 points, to 22,881.90.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.12 percent, or 4.18 points, to 3,379.38 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, edged up 1.67 points to 2,000.05.
