DUBLIN: The number of visits to Ireland by overseas residents increased by 13.5 per cent to 2.77 million in the third quarter, the Central Statistics Office said.
British visitor numbers rose by 13.9 per cent while the number of trips made by residents of other European Union countries increased by 14.6 per cent.
Trips by North American residents were 12.3 per cent higher while visitor numbers from other countries rose by 10 per cent.
The number of trips overseas made by Irish residents increased by 3.5 per cent in the quarter, the CSO said.
