Multan Customs seizes thousands of non-customs paid Q Mobile sets

ISLAMABAD: The Multan Customs Collectorate has seized thousands of non-customs duty paid mobile sets and issued show-cause notice to importers- Allied Electronics and Digicom.

The Collectorate sent the report to the Federal Board of Revenue Headquarters.

The Collectorate seized four models of Q Mobile worth Rs 35,560 each after getting information from different sources. These include 5,100 sets of model Q A 30, 5,100 sets of model Q M800, 15,300 sets of model QB25 and 10,060 sets of model Q M450. The recoverable customs duty and tax on these sets are Rs 24,10,560. These sets were sent to Khanewal from Karachi through express cargo. The importing companies did not furnish legal import documents when Customs authorities raided them.
