KPT handles 71,462 tonnes of cargo in 24 hours

KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust (KPT) handled 71,642 tonnes of cargo during 24 hours.

As many as 60,128 tonnes of goods were imported and 11,514 tonnes were exported during this time.

According to a KPT report, 25,771 bulk cargo, 45,203 dry cargo, 14,925 tonnes of oil and liquid cargo goods were imported. However, 11,514 tonnes of dry cargo was included in the exported goods.

According to the report, 19,516 tonnes of coal, 2,409 tonnes of wheat and 3,846 tonnes of SB mail were imported. During the 24 hours, four ships anchored and another four ships left the dock. In the next 24 hours a ship is likely to sail and another four are expected.
