FBR seeks verification schedule on audit paras of Pakistan Customs

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has sought verification schedule on audit paras of the Pakistan Customs on the leftover paras so that the same could be submitted to the National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee.

In this regard, Chief PAC Customs, Syed Hamid Ali, forwarded a letter to Chief Collector South Appraisement and Enforcement, Director General Valuation, Afghan Transit Trade, Collector of Customs MCC Preventive, Appraisement West and East, Port Muhammad Bin Qasim, Export, Import, Karachi, Hyderabad, Quetta and Gwadar, asking for verification schedule on audit reports including special studies/ performance audit reports for years 1996-97, special 1997, 2007-8 and 2013-14 (customs/ expenditures).

“The sub-committee on Monitoring and Implementation of the PAC while examining the compliance on left over paras of audit reports 1996-97 on October 28, 2015 directed to resubmit the updated position within 15 days after having meeting of DAC”, according to a letter available with Customs Today.

“Further audit report for the year 2007-8 will also be pending issue/ para of the audit reports including special studies/ performance audit reports for years 1996-97, Special 1997, 2007-08 and 2013-14 and ensure proper verification from audit as per re-scheduled dates”, it added.

According to sources, the audit paras of MCC Appraisement East, MCC Appraisement West would be submitted by November 5, 2015.
