RTO Multan serves tax notices to 49 oil mills for payment of outstanding taxes

MULTAN: The Regional Tax Office Multan has served tax notices on 49 oil mills for payment of their taxes for fiscal year 2015-16.

Sources told Customs Today that almost 49 oil mills, which exist in the jurisdiction of the Regional Tax Office, have been served tax notices for the payment of taxes.

The Federal Board of Revenue has imposed 6 percent of seed oil tax after the successful negotiation with oil mills owners. Now oil mills are still hesitant to pay taxes.

Two oil mills have already been sealed by RTO Multan due to non-payment of their unpaid taxes in the first four months of the economic year 2015-16 so far. It is also learnt that Al-Hamd Oil Mills and Sharif Oil Mills were sealed by RTO enforcement tax on non-payment of their taxes amounting to Rs 5.3 and Rs 2.5 million respectively.

Commissioner RTO Multan Zubair Bilal conducted complete survey of oil mills through his Inland Revenue staff which were located in their jurisdiction and then these oil mills were served tax notices after calculating their taxes as per FBR agreement with owners of oil mills.
